Horner Earns Prestigious Honor
Eric Horner, a Paducah native, is a frequent performer at military bases. Singer Eric Horner recently received the President's Call to Service Award from Dr. Don Wildmon of the American Family Association of Tupelo, Miss., and Eddie Wise of Restoration Project of Collin, Ill.

Horner, a Paducah native who lives in Nashville, Tenn., was presented the honor during a taping of "Today's Issues" on American Family Radio in Tupelo.
A frequent performer at military bases, Horner was honored for his commitment to volunteer service, his character and help in strengthening the country.
"I'm trying to change the face of America with the love of God," Horner said. "It's the guys in the trenches who do all the work. They're the ones who deserve it. They represent the real spirit of America."

Paducah native and contemporary Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman and singer Lee Greenwood called during the show to congratulate Horner. Horner played in Greenwood's band for many years. Veterans, military personnel and fans also called the show to offer thanks. Horner's newest album, "For God and Country," includes the song, "They are Americans," which honors hurricane relief volunteers.
